LAKES
& VALLEYS BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS
Lakes
and Valleys acts solely as a booking agent on behalf of both owner
and holidaymaker. Once a booking is made a contract is thus formed
between the latter two parties, and you are then responsible for
the full rental.
Care of the property: A condition of acceptance of any booking is
that the holidaymaker will take good care of the property and its
contents, and that it is left in a truly clean and tidy state as
it will have been found. The care is to include all furnishings,
utensils, crockery and linen and though you might not be charged
for minor breakages, you are responsible for all damage or breakages.
Booking: All reservations are contractually binding when made whether
by telephone, in writing or by any other means. We are always pleased
to discuss any requirements you may have, and assist you in planning
your holiday.
Number of persons: The number of persons using the holiday property
is not to exceed the maximum number stated on the website. The agent or owner reserve the
right not to accept a booking or refuse entry if any of the booking
conditions are not met.
Your holiday: Holidays are from 4pm on arrival day until 10 am on
departure day. We will try to be flexible with these times where,
for example, you have young children and babies. However this is
subject to scheduling and availability. Please discuss your requirements
with us prior to your stay.
Pets: Pets are welcome in some of our properties and these are indicated
in the details. However, it is understood that pets are not allowed
on any beds and chairs, and must not be left unattended at any time
in the property. On departure there must be no evidence of the pet
either inside the property or outside in the garden. There should
be no nuisance and annoyance to the neighbours.
Booking Cancellation: See the holiday cancellation scheme.
Alternative Booking: If for any reason the property is not available
or has been rendered unsuitable for holiday letting (e.g. fire damage)
on the date booked, all rent and charges paid by the holidaymaker
will be refunded in full but there shall be no further claim against
the agent or owners.
Access: The property owner or his/her representative
shall be allowed access to the property at any reasonable time during
your stay.
Complaints: Once a holidaymaker has returned home it is difficult
for Lakes and Valleys to investigate complaints of any nature. Regrettably,
therefore, Lakes and Valleys are unable to accept claims once a
holiday has been completed. It is possible that, during your holiday,
something could go wrong. Should this happen, in the first instance,
please contact the owner/caretaker of your property during your
stay. Should the matter remain unresolved then please contact Lakes
and Valleys immediately and we will endeavour to settle the issue.
Website Information:
We do our best to ensure our website is kept up to date from information
provided by the cottages owners. We cannot accept liability for
a breakdown of any facility at the holiday property which is beyond
our reasonable control (e.g. breakdown of electrical equipment or
a problem with plumbing) or from the negligence of the owner resulting
in loss injury or accident.
Limitations of liability: The use of holiday accommodation and any
facilities is entirely at the holidaymaker's own risk and no liability
is accepted for any loss, damage, sickness or injury howsoever caused
which may be sustained during the holiday to any member of the party,
or any car and its contents or any possessions of the holiday maker.
HOLIDAY CANCELLATION SCHEME
The cancellation scheme is for your protection and peace of mind
and is included in the cost of your holiday. The scheme provides
the hirer and the other members of the party, named on the booking
form, with a refund of rent paid in the event of cancellation prior
to your holiday due to: death; extreme illness producing incapacity
or quarantine of the hirer or the rirer's spouse, parents, or parents
in law or children.
The scheme is subject to the following terms:
-
That all the above mentioned persons are in good physical &
mental health at the time of booking.
-
No claims can be accepted for cancellations due to psychological
or psychiatric disorders, anxiety, stress or depression, pregnancy,
recurring chronic or continuing illness.
-
In the event of cancellation please telephone us immediately
followed by notice in writing.
A doctors certificate or other relevant documents will be required
to support a claim.
-
In the event of your holiday being cut short due to death, illness
or sickness to any member of the party on holiday you will reimbursed
for the unused portion of your holiday providing that the property
is vacated by all members of your party.
-
The sum to be reimbursed will be calculated from the date Lakes
and Valleys are notified, if this is later than the date the
property is vacated.
-
If the reason for the cancellation is not covered by the above
terms then you will remain liable for the full balance. If however,
we are subsequently able to re let the property the monies received
will be forwarded to you, less a £40 administration charge.
The cancellation scheme payment will be retained
by ourselves.
-
If the cancellation scheme payment has not been paid at the
time of booking a refund can not be made.
