Inglenook Cottage is an idyllic cosy and welcoming traditional 18th Century picturesque Lakeland Cottage nestling in the peaceful setting of Lindale-in-Cartmel. The post office, village shop, park and two traditional pubs are all reached within a short walk. Lindale is situated on a hill with spectacular views of the Howgill fells and Levens Valley.
The cottage has a wealth of Lakeland charm and character features such as the Inglenook fireplaces, cast iron solid fuel burner, exposed beams, Grand father clock, deep window sills, wooden floors and even penny hinges on the original ledge and brace timber doors. Outside the cottage has been described by a previous guest as 'a chocolate box cottage', with its attractive flower borders, colourful window boxes and hanging baskets. The 'stable' front door is framed by a lattice work arch with climbing roses and there is even a sitting-out area with bench for relaxing and simply taking in the ambience of the tranquil setting.
Its cosy living room with beamed ceiling, deep window sills, and inglenook fireplace add to the character of the cottage.
The kitchen has a traditional country cottage feel with its bespoke units and belfast sink, with the added bonus of a wood burning stove to the rear of the dining area.
Upstairs leads to the three bedrooms. The master bedroom with its antique brass bed and original fireplace is a joy. The two single bedrooms have been beautifully co-ordinated and are both light and airy.
An ideal base for touring, walking holidays, sailing, fishing, mountain biking or simply unwinding. The Edwardian seaside town of Grange-over-Sands known as the Riviera of Cumbria with its tropical gardens and ornamental lake is only 2 miles away, the village of Cartmel famous for its horse races and scrummy sticky toffee pudding is 3 miles, and Lake Windermere is 4 ½ miles.
